The burning issue of Russian forests

Today my guest is Aleksey Yaroshenko, head of the Greenpeace Russia Forest Department. Last year, the record drought brought unseen wildfires to large swathes of Russia. Flames destroyed woodland, villages and killed dozens of people. For weeks, Moscow and many other cities were covered with a thick, suffocating smog. The people affected blamed the conditions on the state’s forest policy. So will we in Russia be free to breathe fresh air this year? Here’s the head of the Greenpeace Russia Forest Department Aleksey Yaroshenko.
