As the presidential election in Russia moves ever closer, the current Prime Minister and presidential candidate Vladimir Putin has published his manifesto.
Praising the growth of the middle class and civic society, Putin pledged to diversify the economy and increase civil liberties if elected.
But critics claim his promises are unlikely to be fulfilled and warn of a further centralization of power.
So, what are we to expect if Mr. Putin becomes president – more freedom or more screws being tightened?
We put the question to political scientists Evgeny Minchenko and Konstantin Simonov.
