Power of poetry

Today our guest is Evgeny Yevtushenko. He is one of the most notable poets of the ‘60s, a time blessed by small freedoms allowed by the Communist Party. Many of his verses were a revelation to people who had been fed Stalinist propaganda for decades. Now Evgeny spends much of his time in the US lecturing on poetry at big American universities. What’s his view on modern culture? We’ll hear about it form the poet himself today on Spotlight.
