Mars 500: mission is possible

Since the dawn of the space age, humans have nurtured dreams of traveling to other planets.
Yuri Gagarin’s spaceflight and then the Apollo moon missions were the first steps on this journey. Now the time has come to go to Mars.
And though a real manned mission is still a distant prospect, there are men on Earth who already have a good idea what it would be like do the 100-million-kilometer round trip.
We’re talking about Aleksandr Smoleevsky and Diego Urbina who have just spent a year and a half in a claustrophobic capsule as a part of Russian experiment simulating a space flight to Mars.
