Fighting for journalists’ rights

General Secretary of the International Federation of Journalists – Aidan White

Twenty years ago, in June of 1990, the Soviet government passed a law which outlawed any form of censorship and guaranteed the freedom of press in Russia. But unfortunately, no law can guarantee a carefree existence to journalists. The number of cases when journalists’ freedoms are violated is not decreasing around the world. Another serious issue is the decrease in quality of the world media. To talk about the problems and threats journalists are facing around the world, our guest today is Aidan White, the General Secretary of the International Federation of Journalists.
