Abkhazia: a new page in history
Today our guest is Sergey Shamba, Abkhazian prime minister. Three years ago the two Georgian breakaway republics of Abkhazia and South Ossetia came under the spotlight of the international media. Following the South Ossetia conflict, the two de-facto independent republics, were finally recognized by Russia. Two months ago, Abkhazia’s president died, and now a snap election will bring a new head of state. What is going on in Abkhazia three years after its recognition as a nation by Russia? We will ask the Abkhazian prime minister and presidential hopeful, Sergey Shamba.
