Charlottesville officials have claimed that police were outgunned and outmanned and that this contributed to poor crowd control during the weekend’s violent melee. But investigative journalist Ken Klippenstein found that the police were provided with military-grade weaponry in advance of the “Unite the Right” rally that sparked the violence.
