‘Moment we haven’t seen since 1976’ – ACU Chairman on Cruz speech
Ted Cruz stunned and upset the Republican National Convention crowd last night with his refusal to endorse Donald Trump. He told the crowd to “vote your conscious” in November. To discuss Cruz’s speech and what Donald Trump might say on the last night of the RNC, chairman of the American Conservative Union, Matt Schlapp, joins ‘News with Ed’ and says he hasn’t seen a speech like Cruz’s at a convention since 1976. Schlapp also points out that the Trump’s convention ending address will be the “most important presentation he will make in his entire adult life.”

Erdogan blames US-based cleric for Turkish coup attempt
Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan has fired or suspended 50,000 people in Turkey, and arrested 9,000, for their alleged roles in the attempted coup. The country has declared a state of emergency for the next three months and now wants the US to extradite a former Erdogan ally, Fethullah Gulen. RT America’s Manila Chan has the story and reports that the Turkish government blames Gulen, who now operates charter schools in the United States, for the failed coup.
