Protesters block traffic, demand Chicago mayor’s resignation 
Demonstrations in Chicago came together abruptly after the press conference held by city officials which included an apology by Mayor Rahm Emanuel over his handling of the police killing of Laquan McDonald. Now, protests are much larger than they were originally, even larger than the Black Friday shutdown. Protesters are calling for the resignation of Emanuel and Anita Alvarez, the state prosecutor, accusing them of being complicit in the cover-up of McDonald’s shooting death. Political narrative around Iran missile test complicates peace process - Porter
