Six hours of talks between the presidents of Russia and Turkey result in a new plan for northern Syria. One that foresees the removal of Kurdish YPG forces from a border buffer zone. The US Defense Secretary arrives in Iraq to discuss Baghdad's objections to American troops relocating there from Syria. He's just come from Saudi Arabia, which has been far more welcoming, even agreeing to pick up the cost of the US military there. Fears rise that the mistakes of the 2008 financial crisis will be repeated as economists accuse US ratings agencies of going easy on big firms that are heavily in debt. The first ever Russia-Africa summit is now underway in the resort city of Sochi with a host of leaders in attendance.
