Shots Fired at US Embassy in Turkey
Gunshots were fired at the US embassy in An-Kara early Monday morning. It’s the latest sign of heightening tensions between the NATO allies. RT correspondent Dan Cohen has the report. For analysis, Natasha Sweatte is joined by former Pentagon official, Michael Maloof.
Taliban Militants Still Holding Dozen of Civilians in Afghanistan
Taliban fighters ambushed three buses in Northern Afghanistan capturing a number of civilians. Afghan forces were quick to respond and were able to free 149 of the hostages, however more than two dozen are still being held. This all transpired after Afghan president Ashraf Ghani announced a conditional ceasefire between government forces and Taliban fighters. The Afghan government has vowed to continue fighting to free the remaining hostages. RT’s Manila Chan reports.
Manafort Trial: Jury Continues Deliberating
The Jury continues to deliberate in the trial against former Trump campaign chair Paul Manafort. Prosecutors claimed Manafort hid more than 15 million dollars and lied on loan applications to obtain millions more to maintain a lavish lifestyle.
