Saudi Arabia Feud With Canada Explained
What started as a war of words on social media has turned into a full on diplomatic feud between The Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia and Canada. In response to a tweet from Canadian foreign minister, Chrystia Freeland regarding the arrest of human rights activist Samar Badawi in the Kingdom. The Saudi government has said Canada’s position is “an overt and blatant interference in the internal affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.” Saudi Arabia has gone on to expel the Canadian ambassador and recalled their own ambassador from Canada. The Saudi state airline has also canceled all direct flights from the kingdom to Toronto. RT’s Alex Mihailovich reports.
Dozens shot in Chicago over the weekend, 12 dead
Gun violence swept Chicago over the weekend, according with the authorities 75 people were shot and at least 12 died from injuries. In a press conference the police said they arrested 46 people for gun charges. Over 1,300 people have been shot in Chicago since the beginning of the year. RT’s America Dan Cohen reports.
