Why is Biden warning US companies about Hong Kong? (Full show)

President Biden hosted outgoing German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Thursday. They spoke on a range of issues, including pharmaceutical patents, the soon-to-be-completed Nord Stream 2 pipeline and China’s “Belt and Road” initiative. RT America’s Faran Fronczak reports from outside the White House. Then former Pentagon official Michael Maloof joins Scottie Nell Hughes to share his expertise.

President Biden warns US companies about the growing risks of doing business in Hong Kong. Roger Biles, CEO of InterMed Resources, weighs in on the fraught US-China economic relationship and shares his own experiences doing business in Hong Kong.

The FBI has released a report on the “numerous and fundamental errors” of its Indianapolis field office in investigating the infamous Larry Nassar, the USA Gymnastics doctor convicted of child pornography, tampering with evidence and sexual assault of minors. The report accuses two FBI officials of lying to cover up mistakes that allowed Nassar’s crimes to continue for months. Conservative strategist and former competitive gymnast Rory Riley Topping joins to discuss.

Meanwhile, new data reveals that 2020, overall the deadliest year in US history, also saw a record number of overdose deaths, which are estimated to have been more than 93,000. This means that on average, 2020 saw more than 250 overdose deaths per day, or 11 every hour. This is a significant jump from the 72,000 overdose deaths documented in 2019. Factors behind the disturbing trend include isolation brought by COVID-19 lockdown measures and the rise of Fentanyl, a very potent and dangerous painkiller. RT America’s Natasha Sweatte reports.
