Taliban peace deal aimed to get US troops out – fmr Pentagon official
One of the largest investors in Barclays has called on the company’s board to pull its support from CEO Jes Staley. This comes after UK regulators started an investigation into Staley’s ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The US-Taliban peace deal signed over the weekend is in danger. Afghan President Ashraf Ghani has rejected the Taliban’s demand for the release 5,000 fighters from prison, and the Taliban responded with threats of retaliation.
