Russia's Golden Ring: Pereslavl
As the Moscow Out team continues their summer tour in Russia's various Golden Ring cities, Martyn Andrews and his crew arrive in pretty Pereslavl. One of the ancient cities of central Russia, it was founded in 1152 by Prince Yury Dolgoruky. It was here in the year 1693, that young Peter the Great constructed his first ever wooden prototype of the first Russian fleet – and from Kettle museums to onion domes galore, picturesque Pereslavl is a journey to "traditional Russia" at its best. Ahhhhhhh!
