Unknown History: The True Story of Lend-Lease. Part One

Lend-Lease is a system under which the United States provided the Allied nations with weapons, ammunition, strategic materials, foodstuffs, various goods and services during World War II (1939-1945). In the first part of the weekly documentary series Unknown History you’ll find out about the year 1941 when the first lend-lease bill appeared. The number under which it entered the statute books is deeply symbolic – 1776 – the same as the year of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence of the United States. At that time, Hitler was sure the United States and England would not cooperate with the Soviet Union under any circumstances.
