The True Story of the Lend Lease. Part 2
Providing security was the main problem facing the Allies in delivering supplies to Russia under the Lend-Lease programme. Several main routes were worked out. The first was the shortest - a sea route through the North Atlantic to Russia’s northern ports of Murmansk and Arkhangelsk. But the convoys could only travel under heavy military guard. Paul Tadich reconstructs how the programme really worked in the next installment of our series: The True Story of Lend-Lease.
