After the Civil War between the Whites and the Bolsheviks in 1920, the Whites had no choice but to escape from their motherland. They went to Tunisia and other countries. Anastasia Shirinskaya was eight years old when she left Russia and settled in Tunisia. For 90 years she has been a Russian living legend in North Africa. She is the only foreigner whose name has been bestowed on a square in a Tunisian city.
