Raifa is one of the most beautiful sites in the Republic of Tatarstan. The place got its name from Hebrew and it literally means “Kept by the Lord”. Due to primeval silence and remoteness of the place everyone can feel an atmosphere of solitude here. Lots of tourists and pilgrims arrive to Raifa every year. Some – to visit a unique monastery and to fetch some sacred water having its source here; the others – to enjoy the beauty of the virgin forest with a a wide variety of species of rare birds and animals inhabiting this natural reserve. The Legacy of Tchaikovsky (times 05.30, 13.30, 21.30)
 
At the age of 26, he became a professor of the Moscow Conservatory. His life was a curious mixture of success and failure.  That’s why he is inseparable from his music. Edvard Grieg wrote about him: “He is melancholic almost to the point of madness”. Not all of Tchaikovsky’s works were appreciated by his contemporaries but these days it’s clear that his legacy is tremendous and priceless.
