Their life is the road, for which they sacrifice their health and the comforts of home. The life of truck drivers is split in two: six months on the road and six months with their families. From the outside, it can seem that their profession is all about the romance of travel. But lorry drivers say their work is hard – and dangerous. They are the masters of the highway. In Russia, they’re called ‘the kings of the road’.

Russia is one of the world’s largest intellectual piracy centers. Local police are fighting daily against copyright violators. More than 4000 people faced prosecution for appropriation intellectual property of other people in 2007. Police confiscated pirated discs with the total cost of $US 6 mln. Estimated cost of equipment, recovered at underground factories, is tens of millions US dollars. Although it is still very easy to buy pirated discs in any Russian city, it seems like their time is coming to an end.
