Moldova is one of the 15 former Soviet republics which extended between the Carpathian Mountains and the Dniester river. The land of sun and vine it used to be called the “sunny republic”. Moldova is a country where holidays were celebrated widely and merrily but 15 years ago time of holidays was over. People of the both banks of the Dniester river were indrawn into the war. Now those who survived the war are trying to pick up the pieces and to find a reason why all that happened to them.

Meeting with nature: A tiger’s tale (05.30, 13.30, 17.30)

Siberian tiger is called “the soul of the taiga” by the hunters and shamans of the Primorskiy region. For them it’s a sacred animal which is the incarnation of their ancestors’ spirit. Tigers have been inhabiting deep forests of Primorskiy region for centuries and managed to avoid the hunter’s gun. But the constant encroachment of civilization upon the taiga puts these exquisite creatures in danger of total extinction. Siberian tigers, their survival and people who are trying to protect tigers from dying out are the focus of The Meeting with nature: A Tiger’s Tale documentary.
