Caucasian change: Dagestan (01.30, 09.30, 17.30)

Dagestan is the Russian Federation republic. Its legends, traditions and crafts are tightly connected with its location. The word “Dagestan” means “country of mountains”. The definition that characterizes the republic perfectly is “the gate of the Caucasus”. For many centuries it served as a bridge connecting Europe and Asia due to its closeness to Caspian sea. The Caspian Sea Monster (05.30, 13.30, 21.30)

In August of 1967 an American spy satellite took sensational photographs. A huge unknown machine of 100 meters long and about 500 tons of weight, which looked like an aircraft, was flying over the Caspian Sea waters with more than 500 kilometers of speed. Pentagon analysts called this object “the Caspian sea monster”. It was an airfoil boat which was constructed to make the Soviet Union a naval superpower. The history of the airfoil boat construction, checkouts and its rebirth today is the theme of The Caspian Sea Monster documentary.
