TSA hires pedophiles, whistleblower protections, Detroit post rock bottom

On this episode of Breaking the Set, Abby Martin takes a closer look at news that cases of TSA misconduct have surged by 26% in recent years. Abby then talks to Tom Devine, legal director of the Government Accountability Project (GAP), about the chilling effect created by the Obama administration's crackdown on whistleblowers. They also discuss the cases of Army whistleblower Bradley Manning and former NSA contractor Edward Snowden, as well as efforts of GAP to demand whistleblower protections. Abby then goes over five harmful ingredients found in nearly everything Americans consume despite the fact that many other countries have banned them.  In light of Detroit’s filing of the largest municipal bankruptcy in American history, Abby features a report by Breaking the Set producer Ameera David, highlighting the potential for growth and renewal in the Motor City. Abby then talks to Ameera about the latest in the bankruptcy saga and how the city can pick itself up from rock bottom.
