This week nearly 1.5 million workers filed for unemployment insurance, marking the 14th straight week more than a million people have filed jobless claims. Currently, more than 19 million Americans are receiving unemployment insurance. This all comes as the International Monetary Fund says the global economy will take a $12 trillion hit from the coronavirus pandemic. The IMF is also projecting a longer recovery than initially forecast.
