Economic Recovery Slows as Covid-19 Cases Spike

This week nearly 1.5 million workers filed for unemployment insurance, marking the 14th straight week more than a million people have filed jobless claims. Currently, more than 19 million Americans are receiving unemployment insurance. This all comes as the International Monetary Fund says the global economy will take a $12 trillion hit from the coronavirus pandemic. The IMF is also projecting a longer recovery than initially forecast. This week on Boom Bust, host Brent Jabbour was joined by former Fed insider Danielle DiMartino Booth and Economics Professor Richard Wolff to analyze the state of the economy. Then we take a deeper look at the state of the economy amid recent record spikes in coronavirus cases. | Just Press Play has that segment and the best of other in-depth reports, exclusive interviews and controversial issues you may have missed during the week on RT America.
