Renzi suffers resounding referendum defeat

Italian PM Renzi announced he will resign following a resounding referendum defeat, and the US Army Corps of Engineers declines to grant a pivotal permit to the Dakota Access pipeline. Ameera David has details on both stories. Bianca Facchinei takes a look at Venezuela’s creation of new banknotes to combat its worsening economic woes. Simone Del Rosario joins Ameera to break down Donald Trump’s doubling down on a threatened 35% tax on companies that outsource jobs overseas.

Bryan Caplan, professor of economics at George Mason University, tells Edward Harrison what he expects from the Trump economy, and why he’s trying to stay positive. In The Big Deal, Edward examines everything from the Italian referendum to commodities.
