Selling strategic oil reserves

A Chinese investment firm is paying out $1.3 billion to buy giant oil fields in Texas, while the country says it will take all necessary measures to defend its territory after the US sailed a warship through the South China Sea. Ameera David weighs in and is then joined by RT correspondent Manuel Rapalo to talk about how congressional lawmakers are now proposing the sale of 58 million barrels of oil from America’s strategic petroleum reserves. Afterwards, Bianca Facchinei takes a look at new data estimating 2016 college graduates will enter the strongest job market since the recession.

After the break, Ameera sits down with Alex Tabarrok – professor of economics at George Mason University – to talk about pharmaceuticals. And in The Big Deal, Ameera and Edward Harrison talk mergers and acquisitions.
