The US/UK spy agencies’ phone-hacking scandal
US and British spy agencies successfully hacked the world’s largest SIM card manufacturer, allowing spy agencies to potentially monitor the calls, texts, and emails of billions of mobile users. They stole the encryption keys used to protect the privacy of mobile communication, which letthe spy agencies sidestep the need to for a warrant or a wiretap. Erin weighs in.
