Afghanistan war, David Koch, rising food costs
The U.S. has nearly 250,000 citizens and military serving in Afghanistan, so why is this conflict receiving so little coverage in the media? Thom talks to former military analyst Daniel Ellsberg about the lack of media coverage over this event. Then, billionaire Tea Party backer David Koch was spotted celebrating with newly elected GOP members of Congress, supposedly to remind them of his donations to their campaigns. Thom talks to ThinkProgress reporter Lee Fang who was also in attendance at the ceremony. Finally, the U.N. has expressed concerns that another global food crisis similar to the one in 2008 could be in the works. Thom discusses this with Gawain Kripke and Frederick Kaufman.
