Suicide bomber kills 14 in Afghanistan
A suicide bomber has killed 14 people outside a United States military base in Afghanistan during a visit by the U.S. Vice President. The Taliban claimed responsibility, saying it was targeting Dick Cheney.

The attack happened outside the front gate of the Bagram air base.
Cheney was unhurt in the attack and left the base 2 hours later for a meeting with the Afghan President, Hamid Karzai.

Almost 10,000 troops are stationed in Bagram among heavy security.
The U.S. army is now investigating the incident.
