Russian blogger faces possible three-year sentence

The Prosecutor’s Office analysed  Dmitry Shirinkin's blog and concluded he had a desire to shoot dead a dozen people.

In his defence, the blogger said the text is a fiction based on the shooting at a Virginia campus where a student shot dead over 30 his classmates.

He says he did not want to frighten anyone but wanted to draw the authorities' attention to the problem.

Shirinkin added that he did not expect such a reaction to his writing.
