Croc escaped from circus, captured six months later

There has been an unexpected discovery at a thermo-electrical plant in the Ukrainian city of Mariupol. During a routine check, an employee discovered a crocodile.

The reptile, named Godzik, escaped from a traveling circus six months ago during a sea-side show.

The 70-centimetre-long crocodile found refuge in a barge just off the beach where locals say he could be seen sunbathing.

Despite numerous attempts, no one managed to capture him.

Vasily Akimov, the man who discovered the reptile, says he only managed to catch the croc as it had begun to hibernate.
