Abramovich in good standing at Vanity Fair

Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich is more influential than George Soros, Giogrio Armani and Tom Cruise, according to a recent rating by the U.S. Vanity Fair magazine.

In its power ranking index of the most influential 100 people in the world, Rupert Murdock, Bill Clinton, and Bill Gates all keep their top ten spots.

While the only Russian who makes the list, Roman Abramovich rises from 50th place in 2006 to 30th this year.

Vanity Fair says its New Establishment rating is different from all the others, as it not only looks at people's fortune, but also at, what it calls, “a surface gloss of good manners”.
