2 injured in Toronto shooting

Two people have been injured, one critically, in a shooting at the Christie Pits Park in Canada’s largest city, Toronto.

A man in his 20’s has been taken to hospital with a gunshot wounds to his chest and his abdomen, the medics said, describing his condition as life-threatening. 

Another male, reportedly in his 30s, was shot in the foot, but his life is not in danger, CBC news reports.

The incident took place near Bloor Street West and Christie Street at around 9 AM local time.

One of the victims was leading an outdoor fitness class at the time of the shooting, the CP24 website reported.

However, the police said that it was not immediately clear whether the fitness class participants were targeted in the attack.

The police, who are currently questioning witnesses, are yet to release any information on the suspect.
