Russian ship sets sail for Baltic war games

One of the Russian Navy's largest landing craft, the Azov 151, set sail for a series of war games in the Baltic from its Sevastopol home base Monday. The ship will hold training exercises aimed at increasing preparedness against enemy air, naval and submarine attacks – as well as training for rescue operations at sea. The Azov 151 previously participated in the “West-2009” war games and carried out amphibious landings together ships from Russia’s Northern and Baltic fleets. After the exercises, the ship is scheduled to return to Sevastopol on October 10.
