Moscow parades vintage trolly buses on service's 80th anniversary
The Russian trolley bus service marked its 80th birthday on Saturday with a parade in Moscow. Relics of a bygone era crawled along the Russian capital's main streets as the city transportation system marked the anniversary with a procession of vintage vehicles. The trolley bus system may not be as distinguished as Moscow's art-festooned subway, but the display of retro electric buses dating back to the 1950s still attracted a small crowd when it stopped at the square outside the Bolshoi Theater on Saturday.
Trolley buses are still a major part of Moscow's public transport system.
