The Black Sea fleet frigate ‘Admiral Grigorovich’ set off from a naval base in Sevastopol on Friday to join the Russian Navy’s task force in the Mediterranean by December 2. The brand new missile frigate is armed with Kalibr-NK cruise missiles, a Shtil-1 anti-aircraft missile system, a 100mm nose cannon, and torpedoes. The vessel hit terrorist targets in Syria with Kalibr cruise missiles during a large-scale operation against Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS) and Al-Nusra Front in November 2016.
