Smoke bombs flew high outside the Verkhovna Rada in Kiev on Thursday as scores of protesters gathered to denounce the Donbass reintegration bill. Protesters lit flares and threw smoke bombs, as security forces lined up outside Ukraine’s parliament. The rally was led by a number of far-right Ukrainian political parties, including the National Corps, the All-Ukrainian Union (Svoboda), and the Right Sector.

Tensions not only flared outside the building, as some politicians wrangled during the first reading, which led to a postponement of the vote until October 6.
