Police pushed back counter-protesters as they rallied against a far-right Nordic Resistance Movement's (NRM) march in Gothenburg Saturday. Anti-fascists activists were chanting and throwing smoke bombs at police officers. The NRM dubbed their rally a “Revolt against the traitors,” and was originally scheduled to take place near the city’s main synagogue on the holiest day of the year in Judaism, Yom Kippur. In anticipation of clashes between the groups, Gothenburg drafted in police reinforcements from other districts across Sweden.
