Police deployed water cannon and used rubber bullets in an attempt to disperse protesters rallying on the streets of the Haitian capital Port-au-Prince on Tuesday, against the passing of a draft budget for the fiscal year 2017-2018. The mooted budget includes significant tax increase proposals. Protesters threw stones and set tires ablaze as the tax hike protest in the city continued into a second day.
