Protesters rallied in Polish capital Warsaw on Monday night to stand against a controversial judicial reform approved earlier by the upper house of parliament. The amendment gives power to appoint Supreme Court judges to the parliament and justice minister. Critics argue that such an arrangement would undermine the separation of powers and place the top court under the direct control of the government.
