Police officers used tear gas during clashes in Florida, a neighborhood of Buenos Aires, on Thursday. The authorities tried to evict former employees who were refusing to leave the closed-down PepsiCo plant in protest against the layoffs. Over 500 workers lost their jobs due to the closure in June, while only 155 employees will be offered positions at the new premises. PepsiCo is relocating the plant to Mar del Plata, over 402km from Buenos Aires.
