Thousands flock to Peru for Inca Sun Festival

Thousands of people attended the Inca Sun Festival (also called Inti Raymi) in the Inca ruins in Cusco, Peru on Saturday to mark the end of the Winter Solstice and the start of the Inca New year. The main ceremony took place on the terrace of Sacsayhuaman Archaeological Park in the former Incan imperial city. Over 500 actors took part in the tribute, offering up thanks to Inti, the sun god.
