Large-scale NATO drills in Romania

Over 600 infantrymen and other troops took part in drills at the ‘Getica’ Army Training Centre in Cincu, Romania. According to the program, Romanian troops were tasked with holding back an unnamed opposing force, and then falling back to a second line of defense, awaiting reinforcements. Romanian MiG-21 LanceR jet fighters, a Romanian Lockheed Martin Hercules C-130 transport plane, a platoon of paratroopers, two IAR 330 Puma SOCAT anti-tank helicopters, APCs and GEPARD anti-aircraft systems participated in the war games.
