Fiery clashes have erupted between police and protesters in Tebourba, a city near Tunisia’s capital, where crowds took to the streets to show solidarity with a street vendor who set himself on fire after police barred him from selling his fruit earlier in the week. Protesters threw rocks at law enforcement officers and burned tires as they attempted block major roads with barricades. Police responded by dispensing tear gas and arresting dozens of demonstrators. The street vendor reportedly survived and is being treated for his injuries at a local hospital.
