Several hundred protesters took to the streets of Rennes, northwest France, on Thursday, to protest against Marine Le Pen and Emmanuel Macron, who will face off in the second round of the French presidential elections on May 7.

The protesters, mainly students, smashed barricades and recycling containers, while chanting "Neither Le Pen, nor Macron." As the demonstration escalated, riot police deployed tear gas to disperse the protesters.
