Hundreds of anti-government protesters gathered in central Belgrade, rallying against a government-backed redevelopment project in the city, the privatization of public property, and cuts to public services. Activists chanted slogans like: “We will not be cheap labor,” and “[President] Vucic imprisonment.” The Belgrade Waterfront project is expected to cost around €3.5 billion ($3.9 billion) and is set to be built along Hercegovacka Street, where multiple buildings have been demolished to pave the way for its construction.
