Venezuelans in two Caracas neighbourhoods, Chacao and 23 de Enero, set alight effigies depicting President Nicolas Maduro and US President Donald Trump, on Easter Sunday, as part of the annual Catholic tradition of burning handmade dolls of Judas.

Every year on Easter Sunday Venezuelans burn puppets stuffed with hay and old clothes, representing the burning of anything bad and the triumph of good over evil. The Catholic tradition of burning Judas is common worldwide, including in Mexico, Brazil, Spain, and Greece.
