Tanks and soldiers from the Lithuanian ‘Iron Wolf’ Mechanized Infantry Brigade have conducted their first military drills with the Battalion Battlegroup led by Germany as part of NATO's Enhanced Forward Presence (EFP) - formed at the July 2016 Warsaw summit. The EFP forms part of the alliance's forward-deployed defense and deterrence posture aimed at tackling the perceived 'Russian threat' following the Ukrainian crisis.
