Memorial cross for 84 killed troopers installed in Chechnya

A memorial cross was installed in Ulus-Kert village in Russia’s Chechen republic on Wednesday to commemorate 84 troopers, who were killed in a fight with militants in Chechnya in 2000. The 2.6-meter high granite cross weighs 10 tons. The head of the Chechen republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, officials, as well as relatives of the troops and residents attended the ceremony and laid flowers in memory of the dead soldiers and officers.
