Scuffles ensued at an anti-corruption rally in Lima following an ombudsman’s call to investigate Peruvian company Grana y Montero in relation to the Brazilian construction firm Odebrecht’s bribery scandal.

Protesters carried anti-corruption banners and paraded a doll of a rat as a symbol of corruption through the streets. An ombudsman called for prosecutors to investigate partners of Brazil’s construction conglomerate Odebrecht on Thursday, which is at the center of one of Latin America’s biggest ever bribery scandals. The list of partners includes Peruvian builder Grana y Montero, which has already lost shares. Grana is Peru’s largest engineering conglomerate and so far denies any knowledge of bribes Odebrecht said it distributed in Peru.
